Gonda: A card distribution ceremony under the Chief Minister Teacher Cashless Medical Scheme was held at the Lalita Auditorium of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Degree College, where approved teachers from aided and self-financed colleges received cashless health cards under the Uttar Pradesh Government’s flagship healthcare initiative.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Sadar MLA Prateek Bhushan Sharan Singh described teachers as the backbone of nation-building and said their contribution to the country’s development is invaluable. He said the Chief Minister Teacher Cashless Medical Scheme is one of the state’s flagship welfare programmes and has already benefited lakhs of teachers across Uttar Pradesh by providing them with improved access to healthcare.
The programme was presided over by Prof. Jitendra Singh, Principal of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Degree College. Speaking as the nodal officer, he said the state government had successfully implemented the cashless medical scheme for teachers across different categories, calling it a significant step towards strengthening the education sector through enhanced social security.
Dinesh Kumar Maurya, Controller of Examinations at Maa Pateshwari University, Balrampur, said the scheme would provide greater healthcare security to teachers and their families while improving their overall well-being.
District Inspector of Schools Dr Ram Chandra said the initiative had boosted teachers’ confidence by ensuring access to quality medical treatment without financial burden.
Programme coordinator Dr Rekha Sharma, who conducted the proceedings, said the cashless healthcare scheme would bring peace of mind, confidence and a greater sense of security to teachers, enabling them to focus more effectively on their academic responsibilities.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Aman Chandra. The organisers acknowledged the contributions of Assistant Nodal Officers Dr Neeraj Kumar Yadav and Dr R. B. Singh for the successful coordination of the event.
The ceremony was attended by hundreds of faculty members from various colleges, including Prof. Sandeep Kumar Srivastava, Prof. Arvind Kumar Sharma, Prof. Abhay Srivastava, Prof. Jai Shankar Tiwari, Dr Chaman Kaur, Dr Pushyamitra Mishra, Dr Santosh Srivastava, Dr Lohans Kalyani, Dr Shishir Tripathi, Dr Puneet Kumar, Dr Ravi Ojha, Dr Vandana Bhartiya, Dr Smita Singh, Dr Dharmendra Singh, Dr Shailendra Bahadur Singh, Dr Pawan Mishra, Dr Akhileshwar Prasad Shukla, Dr Hari Ram and Dr Manoj Mishra, among others.
